PLANTINUM SPONSOR

The Institut Catala de Nanociencia I Nanotecnologia (ICN2) is a flagship research institute within the CERCA network of centres created and supported by the Autonomous Government of Catalonia to raise Catalan science to the premier international level. The patrons of ICN2 are the Government of Catalonia (Generalitat), the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). Its core activities are Frontier Basic and Applied Research in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Technology Transfer, and Public Outreach. Currently, ICN2 numbers some 200 staff from over 30 countries, of which about 170 are researchers. In addition to the theoretical and experimental groups involved in the project, ICN2´s activities in graphene include thermal management, photovoltaic, biosensors and energy applications, gathering about 40 researchers (permanent staff, postdoc and Ph.D. students). ICN2 achievements were recognised in 2014 with the Severo Ochoa Centre of Excellence accreditation, the most prestigious award targeting research centres in Spain.

The International Center for Materials Nanoarchitectonics (MANA) is one of the 13 research centers funded by Japan's Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) for the World Premier International Research Center Initiative (WPI). The aim of the WPI is to create top world-level research centers which are sufficiently attractive to outstanding researchers from around the world, and MANA was established in 2007 under this premise to encourage proactive science and nanotechnology research with a team of excellent researchers.
MANA has been called one of Japan's best research institutes not only for its research output, but also for its efforts to internationalize and establish effective programs for training young researchers.

SILVER SPONSOR

GraphCAT is a hub of research institutions in Catalonia and industrial actors that have come together to promote graphene tech transfer projects and innovation with industrial and social impact. This initiative is coordinated by ICN2 and key partners such as ICFO.

The ultimate vision of the GraphCAT Community is to establish Catalonia as an international reference in graphene research, development and innovation, with multiple local industries deriving strong competitive advantage in the global marketplace. GraphCAT will achieve this by cultivating a strong community of international graphene researchers, practitioners and businesses, bringing their combined expertise to the development of cutting-edge graphene technologies for and by Catalan industry. It will also provide support for the transfer of technology to industry, as well as the creation of spin-off companies.

GraphCAT is a project co-funded by the European Union Regional Development Fund (ERDF) allocated to the Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020 with a grant of 50% of total elegible cost and with the support of the Generalitat de Catalunya for Emerging technology clusters devoted to the valorization of research results.
